This is one of the quaintest Grade II listed properties with a classic layout of one up one down. The brief for this cottage was to create a luxury holiday bolt hole, taking on the feeling of a cosy log cabin while maintaining a sense of pampered elegance. Transforming this space was no small task, but it is amazing what you can do when walls are knocked down, electrics and gas mains are moved and new cabinetry built throughout. By moving the mains for the electrics and gas I was able to create a cosy window seat in the living area which couples up nicely for dining. Under the stairs is always a great place to make use of storage solutions, so this was the perfect spot to keep the washing machine and tumble dryer, not to mention a great place to store the logs. To enhance the feeling of space in this tiny cottage, with an emphasis on clean crisp lines, beautiful solid hand made shutters were fitted in the bedroom windows, creating a sense of chic style while brilliantly blocking out the light, perfect for a holiday cottage and those lazy morning lie-ins.
